Three Rivers Mercantile

Three Rivers Mercantile began with a name that was already part of our life.
Our last name, Rios, means rivers. There are three of us girls in our family—myself and our two daughters—so the name Three Rivers came naturally. It first lived on the side of our family boat, but over time it became something more. It became the name of something we were building together.

Self-care has always been important to me, but over the years it became something deeper. I started asking questions about the ingredients we put on our skin and into our homes. I wanted to know where things came from, how they were made, and what they were made of. That curiosity led me to begin learning the old skills of crafting simple, natural skincare products.

Three Rivers Mercantile was created from a desire to return to a simpler way of doing things—where ingredients are honest, purposeful, and understood. I wanted to touch every ingredient, to know the story behind it, and to create products the way they once were: thoughtfully, carefully, and by hand.

Much of what we make comes from ingredients that have supported homesteads for generations—goat milk, beef tallow, beeswax, honey, herbs, and essential oils. We believe animals serve an important purpose in our lives and that the resources they provide should be respected and used with intention.

Whenever possible, we source our ingredients locally. If it isn’t something our family can produce ourselves, we seek out the people who can—local farmers, ranchers, and Idaho beekeepers who share the same respect for the land and the animals they care for. The tallow we use comes from grass-fed cattle raised by family farms. Our beeswax and honey come from local beekeepers, and our oils are natural, essential, and thoughtfully sourced.

We don’t use fragrance oils or mystery ingredients. If we cannot trace an ingredient back to its source or understand exactly what it is, it doesn’t belong in our products.

I grew up in a small Idaho town where dusty streets, wooden boardwalks, and potholes were just part of life. In every small town there was always the Mercantile—the place you went for just about anything. It was part grocery, part gathering place, part general store. It was where neighbors met, stories were shared, and everyday essentials were found.

Three Rivers Mercantile is inspired by that idea.

Our goal is to bring back a little bit of that slower, simpler way of living—where skincare and self-care were made from natural remedies that worked and where taking care of yourself was part of everyday life.

Our products are rustic, rugged, and clean. They are made in small batches with intention and respect for the ingredients that go into them.

We believe in stepping away from unnecessary toxins and returning to the basics—homegrown, handmade, and thoughtfully crafted goods that support healthier living.

We only get one body and one life. Taking care of it should be simple, honest, and meaningful.
